The Troy Running League happens on active city sidewalks, not a closed track. To keep the league sustainable and our "Halo" businesses happy, we follow a strict "Community First" code of conduct:
Pedestrians Have the Right of Way: This isn't a race for speed. If the sidewalk is crowded, slow down or stop. Never weave aggressively through groups or force others off the path.
Obey the Lights: Troy traffic is real. Never blow through a red light or cross blindly into traffic to save a segment. A "pause" on your watch is better than a trip to the ER. We will try to ensure that the segments do not cross major thoroughfares but we cannot guarantee that. Also don't pause your watch. Strava does it for you and it's not about speed.
Be a Good Neighbor: We are guests of the Anchor Business and their neighbors. Keep the storefront entrances clear, keep the noise at a respectful level, and remember that you are an ambassador for the entire Troy running community. Remember to tip your servers well. We're all in this together and we want to ensure that everyone benefits from events like this.
Leave No Trace: If you’re fueling on the loop, make sure your gel wrappers and water bottles find a trash can. Let’s leave the block cleaner than we found it.
The "Sweaty Runner" Rule: When heading inside an Anchor Business post-run, be mindful of space. If you’re particularly "glowing" from your miles, grab a napkin and be considerate of the non-running patrons sharing the space.
