The streets are our playground. Local businesses are our finish lines.
Inspired by Jamil Coury’s Burrito League and adapted for the unique urban landscape of Troy, NY, the Troy Running League (TRL) is a community-driven running series. We aren’t here to find the fastest sprinter—we’re here to celebrate the "Everydayer" and the grit of the Troy running scene.
Each month, we feature one Anchor Business and a specific short-form running segment nearby. You run the segment as often as you want, when you want. Your participation helps drive the "Halo Effect," bringing energy and foot traffic to the blocks and businesses that make Troy what it is.
We are kicking things off this March at Mean Max Brew Works on River Street.
The Goal: Volume and Consistency.
The Rewards: Recognition for most days run, most total segments, and a Spirit Award hand-picked by the Mean Max staff.
To keep the league sustainable and our neighbors happy, we follow a simple code:
Pedestrians First: Always yield to sidewalk traffic.
Obey the Lights: Safety is the priority.
Don't Pause Your Watch: This is about time on the pavement, not speed.
Support the Block: Tip your servers and leave the block cleaner than you found it.
Join the Club: Find us on Strava.
Run the Segment: Head to River Street and log your miles. Be sure to start Strava!
Report In: Use the Google Form to log your daily activity.
Follow the Journey: Join the community on Instagram @TroyRunningLeague.
See you on the sidewalk.
The Troy Running League (TRL) is a community-centric, six-month running series designed to turn the streets of Troy into a playground and its local storefronts into our finish lines. From April through October, we feature one "Anchor Business" per month, challenging runners to tackle a specific short-form Strava segment (approx. 500m) located right outside their door. Inspired by the "weirdness" and grit of the Burrito League, TRL isn’t just about being the fastest; we celebrate every runner and hobby jogger as well as the high-energy community spirit that defines the Capital District. We want to proving that the best way to Enjoy Troy is one segment at a time.
